Victory and Associates

You can’t stop the signal, you can’t stop the noise.

Victory and Associates write rock anthems that you didn’t know you needed. Take the parts of huge classic rock you may actually WANT to turn up, mix it with the parts of indie rock that ROCK, funnel it through post-punk sensibility with driving, energetic force and you are on the trail to victory… and associates. This is the sound of giving a high five, this is the sound of being alive. Victory and Associates have been around the block, know their way around a good song and endeavor to deliver something exciting to both musician and non-musician alike. These things are FACTS.

You can’t stop the signal, you can’t stop the noise.

This is the sound of giving a high five, this is the sound of being alive. Here are eleven songs about overcoming adversity, lethargy, disappointment, mediocre misery and frustration and finding what really matters. Getting tough, and getting through it. Funded entirely with pre-orders and donations in an online campaign through kickstarter.com, this is a brash and unique record that would like your attention. These Things Are Facts, the first full length from Victory and Associates, was recorded in SF’s legendary Tiny Telephone studio, mixed by John Congleton (Modest Mouse, St. Vincent, David Byrne) etc. with artwork by Mackie Osborne (Melvins, Social Distortion, Tool, etc.), released on 180 Gram colored vinyl (and cd) It is sincere, but not cloying. Heartfelt, but sarcastically subversive.

So where do these loose affiliates of success fit in? Between Queens of the Stone Age and the Thermals. In Utero era Nirvana and the Hot Snakes, The more raucous elements of Cheap Trick and the Buzzcocks. The goal of honest and true rock music beyond slavish devotion to an era or sound shines through while remaining tautly cohesive.

This isn’t cookie cutter genre music, but it is sassy and raucous both.

“The songs simply on record, more often than not, achieve their goal of having me unconsciously turning the
volume knob up gradually further and further. By the end of it I’m pretty much hitting obnoxiously loud levels
that I am sure people near me aren’t necessarily happy about.
But then again, maybe they are?”

-Built on a Weak Spot

“… the band takes pride in whipping up songs that
are upbeat and clever without being forced or sappy.”

-The One True Dead Angel

Featuring members of touring veterans Replicator, Mount Vicious, NED and the Etiquette, Victory and Associates have toured the west coast extensively, with bands such as Police Teeth, Helms Alee, Virgin Islands, and The Heavenly States. Hoping to continue on their limited sojourns to the midwest and beyond. V&A show no signs of slowing down with this awesome record to propel them. Bringing their incendiary live show and anthems people did not know they needed to cities around the country and true believers all over.
There are but three vital ingredients for this: “Noises, Voices, and You”
